Description
HIRONO GOLF CLUB, established in 1932, is located in Miki, Japan where it was immediately recognised as a course of great significance. Shosuke Itani, Seiichi Takahata, Iwazo Suzuki, and Chozo Ito had discovered the future site of the Hirono Golf Club in Miki. Englishman Charles Alison laid out the course with Chozo Ito acting as on-site supervisor. Alison had opened a golf course architecture firm in 1928 with fellow Englishman, Harry Colt. In January 1931, he was asked to view the proposed site in Hirono and thereafter he shut himself up in a room at the Oriental Hotel, in nearby Kobe, for 3 days where he completed the layout design for the course. continued..
