SHANQIN BAY GOLF CLUB, established in 2012, is located at Longgunzhen, Wanning City, Hainan, China and is a very private club. The property was found in 2004 when the owner was flying in his helicopter around Hainan Island, and after years of negotiation, he convinced Bill Coore of Coore & Crenshaw Inc. to design the course. The positioning was immensely challenging being situated directly alongside the South China Sea on the eastern seaboard of Hainan Island on a spectacular clifftop surrounded by sea on three sides.
