THE FISHERS ISLAND CLUB, established in 1926, is located near the eastern end of Fishers Island in New York and sits on a narrow island that is a mere two miles wide and 8 miles long. The golf course was designed by Seth Raynor an American golf course architect and engineer. He designed approximately 85 golf courses in about 13 years, his first in 1914, at age 40. The Fishers Island Club was his crowning achievement where most of the holes have water views of Block Island Sound or Fishers Island Sound. ‘Race Rock Light’ is a lighthouse constructed in 1878 on Race Rock Reef, a dangerous set of rocks on Long Island Sound southwest of Fishers Island. continued..
