WHISTLING STRAITS, established in 1998, is located in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, USA and is separated into two courses, the ‘Straits Course’ and the ‘Irish Course’. Whistling Straits was the vision of Herbert V. Kohler, Jnr. who transformed a non-descript piece of land into one of the most dramatic courses in the world. Pete and Alice Dye designed both courses and the land they began with was essentially featureless, apart from a stream meandering through its middle. The course now has vast rolling greens, deep pot bunkers, grass-topped dunes and winds that sweep in off the lake, as there are few large trees or woods so the course is exposed to the elements. . continued..
