NARUO GOLF CLUB, established in 1920, is located in Kawanishi, Hyogo, Japan and is one of the oldest golf courses in Japan. Early in the club’s history the members entrusted its development to the clubs most stalwart members, the Crane brothers, Joe E., Harry C. and Bertie E. Crane. In 1930 Englishman Charles Hugh Alison, who worked on the Fuji course at Kawana Hotel, the East course at Kasumigaseki Country Club, Tokyo Golf Club and Hirono came to Japan to design the Asaka course for the Tokyo Golf Club. Harry C. Crane asked Alison to survey the Naruo golf course and offer recommendations and Alison spent a full week on the project in early 1931. continued..
