ROYAL LYTHAM & ST ANNES GOLF CLUB, established in 1886, is located in St Annes on Sea, Lancashire, England. The present course layout constructed in 1897 has remained faithful to the original design created by the clubs first professional, George Lowe with minor modifications by Harry Colt. Royal Lytham is not a conventionally beautiful golf course, surrounded as it is by red bricked suburban housing and flanked by a railway line. However, it is everything you would expect from a classic links course, with the minor exception it now lies half a mile inland, but with Blackpool Tower looming in the distance you know the sea is not far away. continued..
