SUNNINGDALE GOLF CLUB, established in 1900, is located in Berkshire, England. Sunningdale’s New Course was designed by renowned Architect and former Secretary, Harry Colt and opened in 1923. Following the end of the First World War membership figures at Sunningdale recovered rapidly. The amount of golf being played was increasing, and the Committee were concerned to reduce the pressure on the Old Course by the creation of a new course. The land on which the New Course was to be built had since 1911 been a 9 hole course of an independent club, known then as Sunningdale Heath. continued..
