OAK HILL COUNTRY CLUB Established in 1901 is located in the Town of Pittsford, New York, a suburb southeast of Rochester, USA. The club started out in 1901 as a 9 hole course on 85 acres (0.34 KM2) on the banks of the Genesee River in Rochester. In 1921 the wealthy University of Rochester had their hearts set on a new riverside campus and proposed a land swap with the country club which included 350 acres of farmland plus $360,000 for those 85 riverside acres. Naturally Oak Hill grasped the golden opportunity and commissioned famed golf architect Donald Ross to build two new courses, the East course and the West course, on the new site in nearby Pittsford. continued..
